Print the test page on plain paper and hold it over a label sheet against the light. If it is shifted, enter the correction here: positive values move right and down.
How to make folder labels
Organize the filing cabinet with tidy, readable folder labels. Type one folder name per line and each label is filled in automatically.
The colored stripe makes it easy to group folders by department, year or client.
Tips
- Change the stripe color per category: finance, HR, clients…
- Keep names short; text shrinks to fit but big text reads better from a distance.
- Avery® 5066 / 5266 / 8066 all share this layout.
Frequently asked questions
Which sheets are file folder labels?
The most common are Avery® 5066, 5266 and 8066: 30 labels of 2/3″ × 3-7/16″ per US Letter sheet. Choose any other template or custom size if yours are different.
How do I print a different name on each label?
The folder preset already uses a list: edit the names in "Content & quantity", one per line under the header "Name".
Can I add a year or number?
Yes. Add a column (for example "Year") to the list and write {{Year}} in the label, or use {{#}} for automatic numbering.
